Mumbai Police to Speed Up Passport Verification, Delivery in Just 15 Days

Mumbai, India: Mumbaikars will soon receive their passports within 15 days, as the Mumbai Police has streamlined the verification process, reducing it to just seven working days. This initiative is part of the CM’s 100-day transformation program, aimed at making the system faster and more efficient.
"Our target is to clear all verifications within seven days. All 91 police stations now have dedicated passport verification rooms with proper facilities, and officers have been trained to expedite the process," said Satyanarayan Choudhary, Joint CP (Law and Order).
The police stations have introduced digital verification, with officers using tablets to complete formalities on an online portal. Senior officials will also monitor progress to ensure accountability.
How the Process Works
-
Application Submission: Apply at passportindia.gov.in.
-
Verification Date Assigned: The regional passport office initiates the process.
