Mumbai Witnesses Multiple Fire Incidents, No Casualties Reported

Mumbai, India: A fire broke out on the third floor of Kumkum Building in Khira Nagar, Santacruz West, on Monday morning at 10:40 AM. The Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) classified it as a Level-1 fire, the lowest on the severity scale. Firefighters quickly responded, containing the blaze and ensuring no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
In a separate incident, another Level-1 fire erupted at Salsette Building No. 27 in Byculla East on February 28. Emergency services, including MFB, police, BEST, BMC ward staff, and ambulance services, were dispatched to control the situation.
Last month, a fire broke out at Fairmont Hotel near Mumbai Airport's Terminal 2 in Vile Parle (East). The blaze, confined to the air conditioning and exhaust units, caused thick smoke visible from the air traffic control tower but did not affect flight operations. Around 70-80 people were safely evacuated, and the fire was extinguished by 6:50 PM. Preliminary investigations suggest faulty electrical cables and a malfunctioning fan as the likely cause.
