Mumbai Woman Receives Grounding Life Advice from Coconut Seller
In an unexpected encounter, a Mumbai woman receives thoughtful life advice while waiting for her Uber.

Mumbai : The woman, identified as Gargi on X (formerly Twitter), recounted the incident in a post, sharing the advice she received: “Itna paisa kyu kamate ho? Kaam toh chalta rahega lekin khane peene ko time dena chahiye”—meaning, "Why do you earn so much money? Work will always be there, but you must make time for eating and drinking."
She had asked the coconut seller to hurry because her Uber was on the way, only to be met with this unexpected grounding advice, which she later described as "₹10 lakh ki advice"—referring to the priceless nature of the wisdom, despite the coconut costing only ₹50.
Gargi shared a picture of the coconut she bought and praised the vendor's perspective. The post quickly gained traction on X, with many users commenting on the impact of the seller’s words.
Some found humor in the interaction, with one user remarking, “Uber driver would have surely waited for 2-3 minutes… so there wasn’t really any hurry.” Others were more reflective, with one adding, “The seller is giving ₹10 lakh advice for free with a ₹50 coconut.” A third comment, in a tongue-in-cheek manner, said, “Bhaiya ko kon btaye itne paise kafi nahi hai aur log toh itne se bahot jayda kamate hai wo de pate hai time”—which humorously points out that those who earn more money are the ones who can truly afford the luxury of time.
The incident, though small, struck a chord with many, highlighting the importance of taking a step back and reflecting on one’s priorities, no matter how busy life may seem. As one user simply put it, “Good advice.”
In a city known for its fast-paced life, this brief yet impactful interaction reminded many that sometimes, taking time for the simple pleasures is just as important as chasing after success.
