Nagpur Holds Torch Rally Celebrating Operation Sindoor

Nagpur, Maharashtra | May 8, 2025 – In a stirring display of patriotism, residents of Nagpur held a grand torch rally late Wednesday evening to celebrate the success of Operation Sindoor, the Indian Armed Forces’ precision strike targeting terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).

Chants of national pride echoed through the streets as locals marched with torches, hailing the bravery of the Indian Army and expressing unwavering support for the country's leadership.

A participant in the rally, speaking to ANI, passionately declared:"This time we will not only attack PoK, we will eliminate the terrorists wherever they are hiding. The Indian government gave a free hand to our forces, and they have delivered a strong message to the enemies of the nation."

He added that the symbolic naming of Operation Sindoor was meant to remind the world of India’s resolve:"Even if we can’t bring back the sindoor (vermilion) of our daughters and sisters, we will not spare those who dared to wipe it off. Sindoor stands for both sacrifice and strength.”

The rally also included tributes to the victims of the April 22 terror attack, with citizens recalling their earlier candle march and vowing continued support for the security forces.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis publicly lauded the armed forces, calling the operation a "significant success".“I thank and congratulate our forces for entering Pakistan and precisely hitting nine terror infrastructure targets. This operation shows India's resolve and the precision of our military,” said Fadnavis.

The Chief Minister also credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his decisive leadership:“PM Modi stood firm on his promise. The operation ensured there were no civilian casualties — only terrorists were neutralized.”

The torch rally in Nagpur is among many expressions of nationwide solidarity with the armed forces as the nation remains on high alert following the ongoing security situation.
