Nagpur Psychologist Arrested for Exploiting Over 50 Girls in Counselling Camps

Nagpur: A 47-year-old psychologist has been arrested for allegedly exploiting and blackmailing over 50 girls during personal development camps held over the past 15 years. The accused, a father of two, lured young girls by offering counselling at residential camps in rural areas like Bhandara and Gondia.
Police have registered three cases under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Investigations revealed that the accused took inappropriate photographs of the girls and used them as leverage to silence the victims.
In addition to targeting young girls, the psychologist has been accused of inappropriate behavior towards women in his locality. The issue surfaced after a former student filed a complaint with the Hudkeshwar police, leading to a deeper investigation into the allegations.
A special probe team has been constituted, and officials are encouraging other survivors to step forward.
