Commendable Effort by NayaGaon Police: Saved Lives of Three Women Attempting Suicide in 15 Days

Vasai: In the past fifteen days, NayaGaon Police have performed commendable work by saving the lives of three women who were on the verge of committing suicide. The prompt response from the 112 control room and the swift action by the police were crucial in rescuing these women.

The first incident occurred on September 18 around 9 AM. A 16-year-old girl living in the Red Rose building in Pererangar, NayaGaon, attempted to commit suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan. Upon receiving information on the 112 helpline, Police Constable Santosh Ghuge rushed to the scene. Recognizing the urgency, he broke down the door and stopped the girl from taking her life, counseling her out of the attempt. The girl took this drastic step due to a domestic dispute.

The second incident took place on September 1. There was a heated argument between a couple residing in the Nakshatra Pride building. The woman’s brother, who was in Uttar Pradesh, called the 112 helpline seeking immediate assistance. Santosh Ghuge arrived at the location to find the woman attempting to jump off the 13th floor balcony. Ghuge, showing quick thinking, managed to grab her just in time and save her life.

The third incident occurred on September 13. In the Matre Wadi Chawl in Juchandra, a 24-year-old married woman attempted to hang herself due to a family dispute. Assistant Police Inspector Balaram Palkar rushed to the spot and found the woman in critical condition. He immediately arranged for her to be taken to the hospital, where she received timely medical treatment, saving her life. After three days of treatment, her condition stabilized.

In all three incidents, the quick and effective action of the NayaGaon Police saved the lives of these women. These actions showcase the police’s readiness and sense of social responsibility, setting an example for the community.
