In an engaging fireside chat at the Nvidia AI Summit in Mumbai, Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, credited his wife, Nita Ambani, as the inspiration behind the Jio World Centre. As Huang welcomed Ambani on stage, he praised the industrialist’s impact on India’s tech landscape. “No one has contributed more…to help India become a high-tech and deep-tech India,” Huang remarked, recognizing Mukesh Ambani’s ambitions for India’s technological future. In response, Mukesh Ambani welcomed Huang to the Jio World Centre, jokingly sharing, “If I don’t say it’s built by my wife, I was instructed to say that.” Huang and the audience shared a laugh, giving a glimpse into the dynamics behind India’s pioneering tech family.

Located in Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), the Jio World Centre spans 18.5 acres, establishing itself as a hub for business, entertainment, culture, and retail. Its highlights include the Dhirubhai Ambani Square, the Jio World Convention Centre, and the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre. This visionary project, a testament to Nita Ambani’s commitment to cultural and infrastructural innovation, continues to expand with further phases under development since its initial opening in 2021.

During the summit, both industry leaders shed light on the collaboration between Reliance and Nvidia, which aims to elevate India’s AI and computing capabilities. This deal will see the establishment of AI computing infrastructure powered by Nvidia’s Blackwell AI chips, with a large data center as a cornerstone. This partnership, Ambani explained, is intended to propel India into a central role within the global AI and tech landscape, empowering local talent and boosting the nation’s digital innovation potential.
