PM Modi Hails Maha Kumbh 2025 as 'Maha Yagya of Unity', Praises Yogi Adityanath Government for Successful Administration

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised the Maha Kumbh 2025 as a "Maha Yagya of Unity" in a recent blog post, following the conclusion of the 45-day religious event on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri. Modi emphasized the event's significance as not only a spiritual gathering but also a subject of research for management professionals, policy experts, and planners due to its scale and coordination.

In his praise for the Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Modi expressed pride in the successful administration of the event, highlighting the collective efforts of both the state and central government. He noted that throughout the Maha Kumbh, everyone worked selflessly as "devoted sevaks" (servants) to ensure the smooth operation of the event, with no one acting as a ruler or administrator. Modi specifically thanked the people of Prayagraj and Uttar Pradesh for their support and dedication despite the challenges posed by the 45-day event.

The event saw over 66.21 crore devotees taking a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers, during the Maha Kumbh. Prime Minister Modi himself participated in the sacred ritual on February 5, 2025. He described the Maha Kumbh as a symbol of India’s awakening, with people coming together in unity, reflecting the country's renewed consciousness.

He also drew a parallel between the Maha Kumbh and the grand consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, which he attended in January 2024. According to Modi, the event showcased the unity of the nation, as people from all walks of life, including gods, seers, men, women, children, and the elderly, came together to demonstrate the collective beliefs of 140 crore Indians.
