Raid 2 Advance Booking Report: Ajay Devgn’s Sequel Gears Up for Strong Opening Ahead of May 1 Release

Mumbai, April 29, 2025:Ajay Devgn’s much-anticipated film Raid 2, the sequel to the 2018 hit Raid, is all set to hit cinemas on May 1, 2025, and early signs point to a promising start. With two days left for release, the film has already garnered Rs. 1.87 crore in advance bookings, reflecting strong audience interest driven by an impactful trailer and the recently released song Nasha.

Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, Raid 2 stars Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, and Vaani Kapoor, with Vaani replacing Ileana D'Cruz, who played the female lead in the original. The first part, released in 2018, opened with Rs. 10.04 crore on Day 1 and went on to collect Rs. 103.07 crore at the domestic box office, earning the title of a box-office success.

Trade analysts believe that the pre-release buzz and Devgn's solid fan base may help Raid 2 match or even surpass the first instalment’s opening numbers. “The Rs. 1.87 crore advance booking figure is significant, especially given that there are still two full days of booking left,” said a leading industry tracker.

While the advance numbers are encouraging, the actual opening day performance will largely depend on reviews, audience reception, and word-of-mouth traction. Given Devgn’s strong record in franchise films like Drishyam, Singham, and Golmaal, expectations are high.
