Thane Traffic Police Issues Advisory for Saibaba Temple's 25th Anniversary Celebrations (April 28–May 2)

Thane, April 29:In view of the 25th Silver Jubilee anniversary of the Shri Sai Baba Temple, the Thane Traffic Police has announced a detailed traffic advisory with specific diversions and entry restrictions to manage the anticipated crowd and ensure smooth vehicular flow in the Balkum–Kapurbawdi region. The celebrations, organized by the Shri Sai Baba Trust, are being held from April 28 to May 2, 2025, and are expected to draw thousands of devotees daily.

The festive period will feature cultural programs, devotional gatherings, and a large-scale community feast (bhandara) at the temple premises. Anticipating significant footfall and road congestion, the Kapurbawdi Traffic Sub-Division, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Pankaj Shirsat, has implemented temporary traffic diversions during peak hours.

Traffic Restrictions & Diversions

(Daily from 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM, April 28 to May 2)

  • Route: Saket to Kasheli via Balkum

    • Restriction: Entry closed at Lodha Casa Royal Society intersection

    • Diversion: Vehicles must turn left from Lodha Complex and proceed via Majiwada to reach their destination

  • Route: Kasheli to Saket via Balkum

    • Restriction: Entry closed at Balkum Naka

    • Diversion: Vehicles must continue straight ahead via Kapurbawdi Circle

Vehicles Exempt from Restrictions:

  • Police vehicles

  • Fire brigade

  • Ambulances

  • Green corridor vehicles

  • Oxygen supply vehicles

  • Other essential service vehicles

Appeal to the Public

The Thane Traffic Police has appealed to residents and commuters to cooperate with the temporary traffic changes, follow posted signages, and plan their travel accordingly. Authorities emphasized that these measures aim to ensure a safe, orderly, and peaceful environment for the celebrations.

With high attendance expected daily, residents of the Balkum area and surrounding localities are especially advised to avoid non-essential travel during restricted hours.
