SpaceX Starship Breaks Up in Space, Debris Seen Near Bahamas

Florida, USA: SpaceX’s Starship test flight ended in failure on Thursday, as the spacecraft lost control and broke apart in space, scattering debris over South Florida and the Bahamas.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued ground stops at major Florida airports, including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach, and Orlando, due to "space launch debris" concerns. The Starship, intended to deploy mock satellites, suffered what SpaceX termed a "rapid unscheduled disassembly", with its engines shutting down mid-flight.

Despite the setback, SpaceX remains optimistic, stating, "Success comes from what we learn, and today’s flight will offer additional lessons to improve Starship's reliability." This incident comes nearly two months after a previous Starship test launch ended in an explosion over Turks and Caicos.
