The New Statue of Shivaji Maharaj in Mira Bhayander will be audited

The Municipal Corporation had decided in 2019 to erect a 50-feet bronze statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the main square leading to the historic Ghodbunder Fort near Saganai Devi Temple in Ghodbunder area on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway at a cost of Rs 3 crore. Some of the work of making the statue starting over the years. After its completion, the statue has been installed at the designated place, but due to pending work, the statue has been kept under cover without public dedication. After erecting this statue, its structural audit has been done by the contractor. But after the Malvan incident, as a precautionary measure, the Municipal Corporation is going to conduct a structural audit of Shiva Raya's statue again. The public works department of the municipal corporation said that the statue will be inaugurated only after the audit and minor pending work is completed.
