Tragedy Strikes Near Wadala Station: 24-Year-Old Falls to His Death from Train Footboard

Wadala, Mumbai: A heartbreaking incident unfolded at Wadala railway station on Wednesday night, where a 24-year-old man lost his life after falling from a moving train. The victim, a resident of Chembur and employee of a Cotton Green-based firm, was traveling with a friend when the tragic event occurred around 9:15 PM.

The man was reportedly standing on the train’s footboard when he accidentally struck a pole near the track, causing him to lose his balance and fall. Despite swift action by fellow passengers, who pulled the emergency chain and alerted the Government Railway Police (GRP), the man was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries.

Railway officials have stressed the importance of safety and urged commuters to avoid standing on footboards, highlighting the grave risks involved. The Wadala GRP is currently investigating the matter.
