Unresolved Mystery: 3 Key Accused of 7/11 Mumbai Blasts Still Elude Justice

Mumbai, Pune, India: Nearly 18 years after the devastating 7/11 Mumbai train blasts that claimed 187 lives and injured 817, three prime suspects remain at large. Despite the conviction of 12 accused in 2015, Mohammed Raheel Shaikh, Rizwan Mohammed Daware, and Sohail Usman Gani Shaikh continue to evade authorities.
The blasts, masterminded by Lashkar-e-Toiba operative Azam Chima, were executed with RDX-laden pressure cooker bombs on the Western Railway's suburban trains, causing chaos in just 11 minutes. Investigations revealed a deep network involving the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) and hawala funding routed through these Pune-based suspects.
Mohammed Raheel Shaikh, a software professional, and Daware, another IT worker, are believed to have channeled significant funds from Saudi Arabia to support terror activities in India. Sohail Usman Gani Shaikh, suspected to have trained in Pakistan, was reportedly a key participant in the deadly conspiracy.
The three fugitives, once residents of Pune, were last traced to Saudi Arabia and Europe. Despite attempts to secure international cooperation, Indian agencies have struggled to apprehend them, leaving a gaping hole in the quest for justice for the victims of one of India's worst terror attacks.
Will the long arm of the law finally bring these fugitives to account? The wait for answers continues.
