Vadodara Horror: Law Student Screams ‘Another Round’ After Fatal Car Crash

Vadodara,Gujarat:  A tragic road accident in Vadodara’s Karelibaug area claimed the life of Hemali Patel, while four others sustained injuries after a speeding car rammed into two-wheelers near Muktanand Crossroads around 12:30 am on Friday. The accused, Rakshit Chaurasia (23), a law student from Maharaja Sayajirao University, was caught on video shouting “Another round?” after the crash.

Chaurasia, originally from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, was reportedly inebriated, as per eyewitness accounts. He was arrested on the spot. CCTV footage captured the high-speed collision, showing the vehicle dragging victims before halting. Chaurasia, who was driving a car registered to Duan Technology, was accompanied by Pranshu Chauhan, whose father owns the company. Chauhan was also taken into custody.

A video from the scene shows Chaurasia chanting ‘Om Namah Shivaya’ and incoherently mentioning a name, Nikita, while bystanders thrashed him before handing him over to the police. Vadodara Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Panna Momaya confirmed that a medical test will determine if Chaurasia was intoxicated.
