Volatility in Early Trading of Stock Market, Sensex and Nifty at Flat Levels

New Delhi, February 5 : The domestic stock market showed volatility during early trading today. The session started with strength, and in the first half-hour, buying support led to a rise in the market. However, after that, selling pressure set in, causing both Sensex and Nifty to decline. After the first hour of trading, Sensex was down by 0.16%, while Nifty showed a marginal gain of 0.03%.

After the initial hour of trading, shares of major companies like BPCL, IndusInd Bank, Hindalco Industries, ONGC, and Coal India were trading with gains ranging from 1.83% to 2.87%. On the other hand, shares of Asian Paints, Titan Company, Nestlé, Tata Consumer Products, and Britannia were trading with declines ranging from 1.37% to 4.21%.

So far, 2,384 shares have been actively traded in the stock market. Of these, 1,924 shares were in profit and trading in the green, while 460 shares were in loss and trading in the red. Among the 30 shares of the Sensex, 14 were in the green with buying support, while 16 shares were in the red under selling pressure. Similarly, in the Nifty, 33 of the 50 shares were in the green, and 17 were in the red.

The BSE Sensex opened at 78,704.60, up by 120.79 points. After the market opened, buying support pushed the index to 78,735.41. However, after the first half-hour of trading, profit booking led to the index slipping into the red. By 10:15 AM, after the first hour of trading, the Sensex was down by 124.29 points, trading at 78,459.52.

Similarly, the NSE Nifty opened at 23,801.75, up by 62.50 points. After the market opened, buying support took the index to 23,807.30, but selling pressure soon pushed the index into the red. By 10:15 AM, after the first hour of trading, Nifty was up by a marginal 7.75 points, trading at 23,747.

On the previous trading day, Tuesday, the Sensex closed at 78,583.81, gaining 1,397.07 points or 1.81%. Meanwhile, Nifty ended at 23,739.25, up by 378.20 points or 1.62%.
