Netanyahu Arrives in Washington, Trump Makes Major Announcement – The US to Take Control of Gaza Strip

Washington, February 5 : Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with US President Donald Trump in Washington on Tuesday. Following their meeting, both addressed a joint press conference. Trump stated to reporters in the East Room of the White House, "The United States will take control of the Gaza Strip with the help of its military. The Palestinians should leave the area now."
According to a CNN report, Trump said that the United States and Israel will work together on the Gaza Strip. Both countries will be responsible for the future of Gaza. All dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons will be destroyed. The land will be leveled and new buildings will be constructed. He added that the US military might be deployed in Gaza, and whatever is necessary for Gaza will be done.
Trump also mentioned that he feels a sense of long-term ownership regarding the situation. He stated that he had spoken with many people about this matter, and the consensus is that the United States will have control over Gaza. Job opportunities will be created in Gaza, and Palestinians will not be involved in the new development of Gaza.
Trump further said that he is committed to freeing the remaining hostages in Gaza.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu praised Trump during the press conference. He remarked that it seems President Trump has brought tremendous strength and powerful leadership to this effort. Netanyahu added that Trump will still need to oversee the remaining two phases of the three-phase plan, particularly the ceasefire and hostage release agreements.
Before Netanyahu's arrival in Washington, Trump had signed an executive order taking a tough stance on Iran. Netanyahu arrived late on Sunday at the Blair House, the US presidential guest residence, and is expected to stay in the US until the end of the week.
