Western Railway Announces 5-Hour Jumbo Block Between Churchgate and Mumbai Central on September 28

Mumbai, September 27, 2025: Western Railway has announced a five-hour Jumbo Block on Sunday, September 28, 2025, between Churchgate and Mumbai Central (local) stations to carry out essential maintenance work on tracks, signaling systems, and overhead equipment. The block will be in effect from 10:35 AM to 3:35 PM and will affect both UP and DOWN slow lines on this busy suburban section.

According to Vineet Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, this scheduled block is crucial to ensure the safety and efficiency of train operations. During the block period, all suburban trains that normally run on the slow lines will be diverted to run on the fast lines between Churchgate and Mumbai Central (local) stations.

As a result of this operational adjustment, several local trains will either be cancelled or short-terminated/reversed from Bandra or Dadar stations. These temporary changes are likely to cause some inconvenience to daily commuters and weekend travelers.

Western Railway has appealed to passengers to take note of these changes and plan their journeys accordingly. Passengers are also encouraged to stay updated through official announcements, station notice boards, and digital railway information platforms.

This maintenance block is part of Western Railway’s ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and ensure smooth and safe travel for its millions of daily users.
