101 Punjab Farmers to March Towards Delhi in 3rd Attempt Today

Shambhu Border, Haryana: Undeterred by police resistance and earlier clashes, 101 farmers under the banner of the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha are set to march towards Delhi from the Shambhu border on Saturday afternoon. Their earlier attempts on December 6 and 8 were disrupted by Haryana Police using tear gas, leaving several protesters injured.

Led by farmer leaders Jaswinder Singh Longowal and Malkit Singh Gulamiwala, the Marjeevda Jatha accused government agencies of attempts to sabotage their peaceful demonstration. "We have informed authorities about inputs indicating anti-social elements could disrupt the march. Volunteers have been alerted to prevent chaos," said Kisan Mazdoor Morcha leader Sarwan Singh Pandher.

The Supreme Court has directed the government to initiate talks with the farmers to resolve the ongoing deadlock. Farmer leaders have welcomed the move, urging for constructive dialogue.

In a separate development, BJP MP Ram Chander Jangra's claims that "700 girls disappeared near Singhu and Tikri borders" during the 2020-2021 farmer protests have sparked outrage. Farmer leaders called his remarks inflammatory and demanded his removal from the BJP. Pandher added, "Such baseless allegations aim to vilify peaceful protesters. Jangra must be booked immediately.
