104 Candidates Seek EVM and VVPAT Data Reverification Amid Allegations Over Voting Process

In light of ongoing allegations regarding the integrity of voting and counting processes on Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), 104 candidates from 95 assembly constituencies across 31 districts have submitted applications requesting the matching and confirmation of EVM and VVPAT data.
The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has confirmed that a reverification process will be conducted for the EVMs and VVPATs of 755 election booths.
Prominent candidates who have applied for the reverification include Kedar Dighe, who contested against Ekanth Shinde from Kopari Pachpakhadi; Yugendra Pawar, who fought against his uncle Ajit Pawar from Baramati; Rohini Khadse, daughter of NCP leader Eknath Khadse from Muktainagar; former minister Rajesh Tope from Ghansawangi; and Hitendra Thakur along with his son Kshitij Thakur from Vasai and Nalasopara, respectively.
Senior Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat, who suffered a setback in Sangamner, has also submitted an application. Additionally, Shiv Sena candidate Vinod Ghosalkar from Dahisar, Naseem Khan from Chandivali, and Fahad Ahmad from Anushaktinagar are among the other applicants.
