16-Year-Old From Agra Seen in Mumbai With Unidentified Youth, Police Probe On

Mumbai :A 16-year-old girl from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, who went missing from her residence on April 12, was reportedly seen at Mumbai’s Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) the following morning with an unidentified young man. The case has triggered an inter-city investigation, with police teams from both Agra and Mumbai working jointly to trace the missing minor.
Harsh Bhatia, the father of the missing girl, Gauri, approached a local police station in Mumbai earlier this week to report her disappearance. According to his statement, Gauri left their Agra home around 6:25 PM on April 12. A formal case under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered by the Agra police.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Gauri boarded a train from Agra and arrived at LTT in Mumbai around 4:30 AM on April 13. CCTV footage from the railway station showed her walking out of the terminal with an unidentified male companion. She was later seen re-entering the station, but further visual evidence remains limited.
Due to restrictions in accessing additional railway surveillance footage, Bhatia sought assistance from local Mumbai police. Crime Detection Officer PSI Deshmukh and his team immediately took charge of the case and began reviewing the available security footage at the police control room.
While the footage confirmed the girl's brief movements in and out of the station with the unknown individual, further inquiries conducted at LTT have so far yielded no substantial leads. DCP Navnath Dhawle stated that the footage has been shared with the family and that all efforts are being made to trace the girl.
A team from Agra Police is expected to reach Mumbai shortly to aid the ongoing probe. Local authorities are extending full cooperation to ensure swift progress in the investigation.
The incident has raised concerns over minor safety and inter-city tracking of missing persons. Investigations are ongoing, and police have urged anyone with relevant information to come forward.
