A Decade of Change: PM Modi Celebrates 10 Years of 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' Movement

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of the "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao" movement, a flagship initiative aimed at addressing the declining Child Sex Ratio (CSR), preventing gender-biased sex-selective elimination, and empowering the girl child through education and opportunities. Launched in 2015 in Panipat, Haryana, this transformative campaign has grown into a people-powered initiative, with participation from all walks of life.
PM Modi expressed gratitude for the remarkable progress made over the past decade, noting that districts with historically low child sex ratios have seen significant improvements. He highlighted the success of the movement in overcoming gender biases, promoting girls' education, and fostering an environment where girls can thrive without discrimination.
The scheme's impact extends to enhancing the sex ratio at birth, increasing access to education, expanding healthcare services, and empowering women economically. PM Modi emphasized the need to continue this mission, ensuring that the coming years bring even greater progress and opportunity for India's daughters. As the initiative enters its second decade, the focus will remain on implementing inclusive policies, enhancing community participation, and advancing gender equality across the country.
Together, the nation is creating a brighter, more equal future for girls.
