Actor Mushtaq Khan Kidnapped After Attending Event in Meerut: Alleged Torture and Ransom Demand Revealed

Meerut, December 11, 2024: In a chilling turn of events, Stree 2 actor Mushtaq Khan has become the latest celebrity to fall victim to a harrowing kidnapping ordeal. The actor was allegedly abducted while attending an event in Meerut, following an invitation from the event organizers.
The incident comes days after comedian Sunil Pal claimed to have been kidnapped under similar circumstances. According to reports, Mushtaq Khan was invited to attend a function in Meerut and was provided with flight tickets and an advance payment for his appearance. However, after reaching the city, he was allegedly abducted by a group of kidnappers.
Mushtaq’s business partner, Shivam Yadav, revealed in an interview with India Today that the actor was tortured for over 12 hours and was pressured to pay a ransom of Rs 1 crore. The kidnappers eventually took Rs 2 lakh from Mushtaq's bank account, which had been accessed via his son’s account. The actor managed to escape after hearing the morning azaan, believing a nearby mosque would offer safety.
Shivam Yadav confirmed that Mushtaq Khan, though shaken by the ordeal, was determined to take legal action. “Mushtaq sir and his family were completely shaken, but he was resolute about filing an FIR once he gathered his composure. We have already filed an official FIR in Bijnor and have substantial evidence, including flight tickets, bank account transactions, and CCTV footage from the vicinity of the airport. Mushtaq also recognizes the neighborhood and even the house where he was kept,” Yadav stated.
Authorities are now investigating the case, and local police have expressed confidence that the culprits will soon be apprehended.
This latest kidnapping incident follows a similar case involving comedian Sunil Pal, who was abducted after being invited to an event in Haridwar. Sunil reported that he was transferred to another vehicle after arriving in Meerut, where the kidnappers intimidated him with a poison-filled syringe and demanded a ransom of Rs 20 lakh. After a tense negotiation, Sunil managed to transfer Rs 7.5 lakh and was returned to Mumbai safely with Rs 20,000 to book his flight back.
Both actors have described the kidnappers as being professional in their tactics, luring the victims with promises of a performance and pre-arranged payments. The sudden change in vehicles and the vague explanations during the trips raised suspicions, but it was only once the situation escalated that they realized they were in grave danger.
Earlier this year, another actor, Rajesh Puri, shared a similar harrowing experience. Puri, who was also invited to an event in Meerut, said that after a vague journey and some disturbing encounters, he was informed of his kidnapping and subsequently dropped off at a border, where his brother-in-law rescued him.
The spate of celebrity kidnappings has raised alarms about the safety of high-profile individuals when attending events in unfamiliar locations. Authorities are urging organizers to ensure proper security measures are in place to protect performers and guests.
Mushtaq Khan's case adds to the growing list of unsettling incidents, raising concerns about the security protocols for entertainers and the rise of such criminal activities targeting public figures. Fans and industry insiders alike are hoping for a swift investigation and justice for the victims.
