Actress Disha Patani's Sister Khushboo Patani Saves Girl's Life: A Heartwarming Act of Humanity Praised on Social Media

Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh:In a heartwarming act of bravery and humanity, Bollywood actress Disha Patani’s elder sister, Khushboo Patani, rescued an eight-month-old baby girl who had been thrown into a ruined building by an intoxicated man at Bareilly Junction. The incident has stirred outrage and concern while also drawing widespread praise for Khushboo’s quick and compassionate response.
On Sunday morning, Gufran, a woman from Madhubani district in Bihar, arrived at Bareilly Junction with her eight-month-old daughter, Inayat. While waiting to board a connecting train to her maternal home, Gufran handed the baby to a drug-addicted man sitting at the station so she could quickly fetch milk. When she failed to return promptly, the addict, after holding the child for nearly 30 minutes, walked towards the railway line and eventually threw the baby into an abandoned police quarters near Chaupula.
Khushboo Patani, a former Indian Army Major and daughter of retired police CO Jagdish Patani, lives adjacent to the abandoned police quarters. That morning, her mother, Padma Patani, heard a baby crying while cleaning the house and alerted Khushboo. Without hesitation, Khushboo jumped over the boundary wall, located the crying baby covered in mud, and carried her home.
Together with her mother, Khushboo cleaned and fed the baby, later informing her father, who contacted local police officials. The child was then placed under the care of the Childline team and admitted to the children’s ward at the district hospital.
While the rescue drew praise, the role of the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) has come under criticism. Despite the mother wandering around the junction frantically looking for her baby, neither agency provided assistance. Gufran ultimately approached the Kotwali police station, where she was reunited with her daughter after identification.
Upon seeing her baby, Gufran broke down in tears of joy. The infant too reacted with visible relief and happiness upon seeing her mother. Following proper procedures, the Childline team began formalities to hand the child back to her mother.
Dr. Sandeep Gupta, a pediatric specialist at the district hospital, confirmed the baby was in good health with no major injuries. "The child was examined thoroughly and found to be in a stable condition," he said.
Khushboo Patani’s brave and humane response has gone viral on social media. Netizens are applauding her courage and kindness, calling her a real-life hero. Her swift action not only saved a life but also restored faith in humanity.
