Ahmedabad: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah performed Bhoomi Pujan and inauguration of development projects worth ₹447 crore in Bhadaj, Ahmedabad on Thursday. Addressing the program on this occasion, Amit Shah attacked the previous governments of the country regarding cleanliness. Shah said that toilets have been built in all the houses of the country, this has happened after 70 years of independence of the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done the work of bringing cleanliness in the country. The people of Gujarat have given the sanskar of cleanliness across the country. "Let us pledge that in the coming year Gujarat comes first in the cleanliness survey." Union Home Minister Shah, who arrived in Gujarat on a two-day tour, wished the people a Happy Navratri in the program of Mahanagar Palika in Bhadaj. Shah said that the 9-day festival of worship has started from today. Followers of Sanatan Dharma all over the world will work to accumulate Satva, knowledge and power during these nine days. Many types of meditation are performed in entire Gujarat for nine days. He also mentioned Bhadrakali, the Kuldevi of Ahmedabad. Shah praised the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and said that it has done the best work by building schools. Home Minister Shah also interacted with the children. He said that after seeing the schools of the Primary Education Committee, one realises how bright the future of India is. Shah said that he heartily congratulates the Mayor and the Chairman of the Municipal Primary Education Committee and the teachers. Home Minister Shah expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and said that development works worth Rs 23,951 crore have been approved in the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated works worth Rs 14 thousand crore. Development works worth Rs 37 thousand crore have been done in the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency in five years. From development work for children to making ponds, roads, overbridges, primary health centres, hospitals, many other works have been done. Shah requested the people of Ahmedabad to support the efforts of the Municipal Commissioner in the cleanliness survey, so that the city can be brought to the top.
