Attention Thanekars! TMC Announces Water Cut on July 25 Across Multiple Areas

Thane, July 22: The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has officially announced a scheduled water cut on Friday, July 25, 2025, due to urgent maintenance and repair work being undertaken by STEM Water Distribution and Infrastructure Co. Pvt. Ltd.
The water supply will be completely shut down from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM in several parts of the city. The affected areas include Ghodbunder Road, Patlipada, Balkum, Bramhand, Pawar Nagar, Kothari Compound, Dongri Pada, Waghbil, and adjoining localities.
The civic body issued a public advisory urging residents to store sufficient water in advance and use water judiciously during the 12-hour shutdown. The announcement was made through TMC’s official handle on X (formerly Twitter), confirming that the shutdown—originally planned for Tuesday, July 22—has been rescheduled to Friday, July 25.
In a related development, another water supply disruption will impact the Wagle and Lokmanya Savarkar Nagar Ward Committee areas. Water in these zones will be cut from 12:00 noon to 9:00 PM the same day due to emergency repairs at the Jai Bhavani Nagar Pump House, which is a critical infrastructure component supplying water to these wards.
Despite the inconvenience, the overall water situation in the city is showing improvement. Thanks to the recent spell of heavy rainfall, the seven lakes supplying water to Thane have reached 85% of their total storage capacity. As of 6:00 AM on July 22, the combined water storage stands at 1,234,836 million litres, assuring the city of a stable water supply in the near future once repairs are completed.
TMC has appealed to all residents to cooperate and conserve water during this brief period of disruption.
