Mercedes Mayhem at Mumbai Airport: Five Injured as Driver Loses Control at Parking Lot

Mumbai, (CSMIA): Five people, including two Czech tourists, were injured in a shocking incident at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) parking lot on Sunday morning. A 34-year-old driver, Parshuram Chincholappa Dadanavre from Navi Mumbai, allegedly lost control of his Mercedes, causing it to ram into pedestrians after dropping off passengers at Gate 1.
According to authorities, Dadanavre may have mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, sending the vehicle speeding towards a speed bump. The crash injured five individuals, including three airport crew members. The tourists were rushed to Nanavati Hospital, while the crew members were taken to Cooper Hospital, where one victim, Piyush Varde, suffered a fractured leg.
Dadanavre has been arrested for rash driving and negligence. Preliminary investigations reveal he was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The vehicle has been impounded as police continue their probe.
CSMIA has assured that safety measures are being enforced, working closely with police and security teams to maintain passenger safety and smooth operations.
