Bengaluru Shocker: Man Kills Wife, Hides Body in Suitcase, Arrested Near Pune

Bengaluru: A 36-year-old software professional, Rakesh Rajendra Khedekar, has been arrested for allegedly murdering his wife, Gouri Anil Sambrekar (32), stuffing her body in a suitcase, and abandoning it in their rented house in Dodda-Kammanahalli, South Bengaluru before fleeing.

The shocking crime was discovered on Thursday evening after Rakesh called his landlord, confessing to the murder and asking him to inform the police and the victim’s family.

The couple, married for two years, had recently moved from Mumbai to Bengaluru. According to police, an argument over a minor issue during dinner on Wednesday escalated, leading Rakesh to stab Gouri multiple times with a kitchen knife, causing fatal injuries.

After the murder, he fled to Mumbai before being caught near Pune within 24 hours. Authorities are still investigating his motive and why he was returning to Pune.

Neighbors reported no visible disputes between the couple, and Rakesh, who worked from home, spent most of the day with Gouri. Police have stated that he is still in shock and will be further interrogated
