Tragedy on Foggy Pataudi Road: Woman Burnt Alive in Car Crash, Husband Injured

Gurgaon, Haryana: A devastating accident on Gurgaon’s Pataudi Road claimed the life of a 21-year-old woman, Neelu, while her husband, Pawan, suffered severe injuries. The couple was returning home after a movie at New Town Square Mall in Sector 95 when their Maruti Alto was hit from behind by a heavy vehicle likely a truck near Wazirpur Mod around midnight on Saturday.

The impact crushed the passenger side of the car, trapping Neelu in the wreckage. A fire erupted due to a fuel leak, engulfing the vehicle in flames. Passersby managed to pull Pawan—who works for Blu Smart—from the driver's seat, but Neelu was burnt alive before help could reach her.

The fire department arrived within 15-20 minutes, but the car was completely charred by then. Police are scanning CCTV footage to identify the truck involved in the hit-and-run.

In another accident hours later, a gravel-laden truck overturned near Sector 82 on NH-8, rupturing its fuel tank and catching fire. The driver, Hansraj, was seriously injured but rescued by locals. Traffic was diverted until the highway was cleared by 6 AM.

Police are awaiting a formal complaint from Neelu’s family before registering a case.
