Biker Dies in Third Fatal BEST Bus Accident in Less Than a Week

MUMBAI: In a tragic incident on Saturday night, a 25-year-old biker, identified as Vindo Dikshit, died after being hit by a BEST bus in Govandi. The accident took place near the Shivaji Nagar junction at midnight when Dikshit’s motorcycle collided with the bus. The rear-right tire of the bus struck Dikshit, causing a fatal head injury.

Despite being rushed to Rajawadi Hospital, Dikshit was declared dead before he could be admitted. The bus was on its way from Shivaji Nagar to Kurla when the collision occurred near the highway bus stop.

This incident marks the third fatal accident involving BEST buses in a span of five days. On Monday, a deadly crash on SG Barve Road, Kurla, resulted in seven deaths and 43 injuries when a bus lost control and struck vehicles and pedestrians. On Wednesday, a 55-year-old man lost his life after being hit by a BEST bus near CSMT.
