Central Railway Announces Mega Block on May 11: Major Disruptions on Main and Harbour Lines

Mumbai, May 10: The Central Railway, Mumbai Division, has declared a mega block on Sunday, May 11, to facilitate essential infrastructure upgrades and safety-related maintenance. The scheduled block will impact both the Main Line and the Harbour Line, significantly affecting train services during the specified hours.
Main Line Block: Matunga to Mulund
The Main Line block will be enforced from 11:05 AM to 3:35 PM between Matunga and Mulund.

Down Local Services:
Trains leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) between 10:36 AM and 3:10 PM will be diverted to the Down Slow Line at Matunga. These trains will halt at all regular stops between Matunga and Mulund and are likely to experience a delay of around 15 minutes.
Services heading beyond Thane will switch to the Down Express Line at Mulund. -
Up Local Services:
Trains starting from Thane between 11:03 AM and 3:38 PM will operate via the Down Slow Line up to Matunga. They will make regular halts and then shift to the Up Fast Line at Matunga. These trains too are expected to be delayed by about 15 minutes.
Harbour Line Block: Kurla to Vashi
A simultaneous block on the Harbour Line between Kurla and Vashi (Up and Down lines) will be in place from 10:40 AM to 4:40 PM.

Down Harbour Services:
All trains from CSMT to Vashi/Belapur/Panvel between 9:48 AM and 4:08 PM will be cancelled. -
Up Harbour Services:
Services from Panvel/Belapur/Vashi to CSMT between 9:53 AM and 4:10 PM will also be cancelled.
Alternative Travel Arrangements
To mitigate inconvenience, passengers on the Harbour Line can travel via the Thane–Vashi/Nerul route between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys in advance and account for potential delays or route changes.
This scheduled maintenance work is part of Central Railway’s continued efforts to ensure smoother and safer rail operations across the Mumbai suburban network.
