Raipur:In Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, 84 live ammunition rounds were discovered by children fishing in the Chhokra Nala area of the Teli Bhanja police station jurisdiction. The cartridges are reported to be of high-caliber weapons such as INSAS, MAMK, and .303 rifles. Upon receiving the information, the police and forensic team arrived at the scene and seized the ammunition. The investigation continued late into Friday night.
Additional Police Superintendent of Raipur, Lakhan Patle, stated that the children found the live ammunition while fishing near the Grand Canyon Hotel in the Funder area on Friday evening. They informed local residents, who then alerted the police. The police and forensic team subsequently arrived and took control of the cartridges.
The police are investigating how such a large quantity of ammunition ended up abandoned. They are reviewing nearby CCTV footage to gather more information. SSP Santosh Singh has instructed a thorough investigation into the serious nature of this incident.
