Couple Jumps Off Naigaon Bridge into Versova Creek; Husband Rescued, Search for Wife Ongoing

Mira-Bhayandar:A tragic incident took place on Thursday morning when a couple from Naigaon jumped off the Versova Creek Bridge. The couple, Sasikala Dinesh Yadav (28) and Dinesh Yadav (32), reportedly took this drastic step due to local disputes.

The incident occurred around 10 a.m. Sasikala was the first to jump into the creek, and her husband Dinesh quickly followed, trying to save her. Motorists on the bridge saw the incident and immediately informed the local police.

Rescue teams from the Mira-Bhayandar Fire Department and Kashigaon Police Station rushed to the scene. They were able to rescue Dinesh Yadav using a speedboat. Unfortunately, Sasikala, who couldn’t swim, was carried away by the strong currents. The search for her is still ongoing.

Senior Police Inspector Rahul Patil of Kashigaon Police Station said that the couple's decision to jump seems to be linked to a local dispute. The police are investigating to find out more details.
