COVID-19 Update: India’s Active Cases Cross 7,000; 306 New Infections, 6 Deaths in 24 Hours

New Delhi, June 11: India’s active COVID-19 caseload has surpassed the 7,000 mark, with 306 new infections and six fatalities reported in the last 24 hours, according to the latest data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The total number of active cases now stands at 7,121, signaling a concerning upward trend across several states.
In a precautionary move amid this resurgence, ministers scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi will now be required to undergo RT-PCR testing, sources said. Though no official statement has been released, the decision is being seen as a preventive step due to rising case numbers in states such as Kerala, Maharashtra, and Karnataka, which continue to report the highest fatalities.
