Lift at Bhabha Hospital, Kurla (West) Restored After Month-Long Shutdown – Relief for Dialysis Patients

Kurla, June 11: After more than a month of inconvenience, the lift at Bhabha Hospital in Kurla (West), which provides access to the dialysis department on the second floor, has finally been repaired. This comes as a huge relief to dialysis patients, especially senior citizens, wheelchair users, and those with critical health conditions.
During the month-long outage, patients had to be carried upstairs or forced to climb, causing considerable distress. The issue was highlighted by RTI activist Anil Galgali after relatives of affected patients approached him for help.
Galgali promptly submitted a formal complaint to Additional Municipal Commissioner Dr. Vipin Sharma. Responding swiftly, Dr. Sharma directed the concerned department to act immediately. The lift was repaired and made operational within just 3 days.
The quick resolution has been welcomed by patients and citizens alike, who have appreciated the proactive role played by the BMC administration.
