Mumbai, India: A 43-year-old flower vendor, Ravindra Gupta, lost his life in a tragic hit-and-run accident in Dadar (West) early Saturday morning. The incident occurred at 5:32 AM in the Meenatai Thackeray flower market when a speeding car, driven by Neeraj Sudhakar Shetty (29), first crashed into a pickup truck and then hit Gupta’s Activa scooter from behind.
Local residents rushed Gupta to KEM Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Gupta, a resident of Katemanewali, Kalyan, had been working in the Dadar flower market for years and commuted daily for work.
His nephew, Amarjeet Gupta, lodged a complaint at Dadar police station, and a case has been registered under sections 304(A) (causing death by negligence) and 279 (rash driving) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
