DU Student Kills Parents and Sister on Their 25th Anniversary in South Delhi

South Delhi, Devli Village, India A 20-year-old Delhi University student, Arjun Tanwar, has been arrested for the brutal murder of his parents and sister at their home in South Delhi's Devli village. The incident took place on Wednesday morning, coinciding with the 25th wedding anniversary of his parents.

According to police, Arjun, a state-level boxer, slit the throats of his parents, Rajesh Kumar (51), a former Army man, and Komal (46), along with his sister Kavita (23). Arjun initially called the police at 6:53 am, claiming that he had found the bodies after returning from the gym. However, during questioning, his statements became inconsistent, leading to suspicions.

The investigation revealed that Arjun had been nursing a grudge against his family. He felt that his parents favored his sister, who was academically inclined, while he was constantly compared to her despite his success in boxing. Tensions escalated after Arjun learned that his parents planned to transfer property ownership to his sister.

On the morning of the murders, Arjun took a service knife from his father, killed his sister, and then murdered his parents while they slept. Afterward, he locked the house, went for his usual workout, and later called the police, reporting the crime. Forensic evidence and bloodstains on his motorcycle keys led to his arrest.

The case has been registered at Neb Sarai police station, and further investigations are ongoing.
