FIITJEE Centres Close Amid Salary Disputes, Parents Protest Across Cities

Delhi NCR: FIITJEE, a premier coaching institute for engineering and medical entrance exams, is facing massive backlash after abruptly shutting down several centres due to salary disputes. The closures have triggered protests by parents in cities like Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Delhi, and others, with hundreds of students left in limbo just ahead of critical exams.

In Noida’s Sector 62, over 100 parents gathered to protest outside a FIITJEE centre, demanding accountability for incomplete courses. Parents claim to have paid two years of fees in advance, only to find classes halted after teachers resigned en masse due to unpaid salaries. “We trusted them with our children’s future, but they have left us in chaos,” a parent lamented, adding that only 40% of the syllabus was completed.

Similar scenes unfolded in Ghaziabad, where parents protested outside the RDC Rajnagar branch. Authorities discovered that the branch was operating without registration, prompting legal action. FIRs have been lodged in several cities, with parents demanding either a 60% fee refund or assurance that the syllabus will be completed.

Despite repeated requests, FIITJEE management has not issued an official statement. Meanwhile, teachers who resigned are urging parents to enroll their children in other coaching institutes, adding to the confusion.

FIITJEE, founded in 1992 by IIT Delhi graduate D.K. Goel, operates 72 centres across 41 cities and employs over 300 staff. The ongoing financial crisis, compounded by allegations of mismanagement and rule violations, has cast doubt on its once-stellar reputation in education.

Parents vow to continue protests until a resolution is reached, with many hoping authorities will take swift action to safeguard their children's education.
