Four arrested, cop injured after protest at temple in Canada

New Delhi : Last week, several protests erupted in Mississauga and Brampton, leading to arrests and injuries. The Peel Regional Police reported that four individuals were arrested and a police officer was injured during these demonstrations. The protests began at an unnamed Hindu temple in Brampton, where a group of protestors trespassed on the property. The demonstrations then moved to two other locations in Mississauga, where confrontations between protestors and worshippers broke out.

Online videos showed people fighting outside the Hindu Sabha Mandir, with Khalistan flags present in the area. Three of the arrested individuals have been identified as Mississauga resident Dilpreet Singh Bouns, Brampton resident Vikas, and Mississauga resident Amritpal Singh. The fourth individual who was arrested was released on an unrelated warrant. Additionally, an off-duty Peel police officer was seen participating in one of the protests, and has since been suspended pending an investigation.

The police are currently looking into the circumstances surrounding the protests and violence that occurred, as they appear to be related to each other.
