GOLD futures gains by 0.01% while SILVER futures drops by 1.18%: CRUDEOIL futures drops by 1.98%

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.66531.43 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 08 October 2024 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 14159.27 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 52368.87 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Oct-24 futures was reached at 18894 point. Commodity Future Contracts: Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 9547.89 crores. GOLD Dec-24 contract was up by 0.01% to Rs. 76054 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Oct-24 contract was down by 0.16% to Rs. 61195 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Oct-24 contract was down by 0.15% to Rs. 7462 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Oct-24 contract was down by 0.04% to Rs. 75630 per 10 gram. SILVER Dec-24 contract was down by 1.18% to Rs. 91270 per kg, while SILVERM Nov-24 contract was down by 1.18% to Rs. 91160 per kg and SILVERMIC Nov-24 contract was down by 1.14% to Rs. 91188 per kg. Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2990.63 crores with volume of 3945 lots and OI of 16408 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 3405.50 crores with volume of 12448 lots and OI of 28100 lots. Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 2901.39 crores. COPPER Oct-24 contract was down by 2.16% to Rs. 835.4 per kg and ZINC Oct-24 contract was down by 1.87% to Rs. 282.8 per kg while ALUMINIUM Oct-24 contract was down by 2.45% to Rs. 236.55 per kg and LEAD Oct-24 contract was down by 1.61% to Rs. 183.2 per kg. Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1913.19 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 283.00 crores, Lead futures Rs. 47.99 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 450.95 crores. Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 1705.13 crores. CRUDEOIL Oct-24 contract was down by 1.98% to Rs. 6347 per BBL while NATURALGAS Oct-24 contract was up by 1.3% to Rs. 233.2 per MMBTU. Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 670.78 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 837.88 crores. AGRI: MENTHAOIL Oct-24 contract was down by 0.07% to Rs. 913 per kg and COTTONCNDY Nov-24 contract was down by 0.6% to Rs. 56500 per candy. Options on Commodity Future Contracts: Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 52368.87 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 1208.58 crores. Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6400 was down by 29.62% to Rs. 188.70 with volume of 59603 lots & OI of 10650 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6300 was up by 32.28% to Rs. 193 with volume of 53235 lots & OI of 8040 lots. Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.240 was up by 13.64% to Rs. 10.00 with volume of 14289 lots & OI of 9900 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.220 was down by 12.18% to Rs. 6.85 with volume of 9137 lots & OI of 5361 lots. Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.78000 was up by 4.47% to Rs. 795.00 with volume of 334 lots & OI of 298 lots, while Gold Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.70000 was down by 2.7% to Rs. 90 with volume of 258 lots & OI of 179 lots. Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.100000 was down by 9.74% to Rs. 1338.50 with volume of 622 lots & OI of 1585 lots, while Silver Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.85000 was up by 24.29% to Rs. 1205 with volume of 394 lots & OI of 963 lots.
