GOLD futures gains by 0.05%, while SILVER futures drops by 0.51%: CRUDEOIL futures gains by 0.62%

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.94837.57 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 11 December 2024 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 16559.13 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 78277.28 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Dec-24 futures was reached at 19225 point.

Commodity Future Contracts:

Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 12526.93 crores. GOLD Feb-25 contract was up by 0.05% to Rs. 78380 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Dec-24 contract was up by 0.35% to Rs. 62798 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Dec-24 contract was up by 0.18% to Rs. 7774 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Jan-25 contract was up by 0.03% to Rs. 77768 per 10 gram.

SILVER Mar-25 contract was down by 0.51% to Rs. 95039 per kg, while SILVERM Feb-25 contract was down by 0.46% to Rs. 94937 per kg and SILVERMIC Feb-25 contract was down by 0.44% to Rs. 94947 per kg.

Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 6841.36 crores with volume of 8705 lots and OI of 16732 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2397.11 crores with volume of 8390 lots and OI of 24515 lots.

Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1603.80 crores. COPPER Dec-24 contract was down by 0.31% to Rs. 828.05 per kg and ZINC Dec-24 contract was down by 0.58% to Rs. 291.05 per kg while ALUMINIUM Dec-24 contract was down by 0.55% to Rs. 244.1 per kg and LEAD Dec-24 contract was down by 0.14% to Rs. 180.45 per kg.

Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 908.54 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 138.87 crores, Lead futures Rs. 31.87 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 379.25 crores.

Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 2436.33 crores. CRUDEOIL Dec-24 contract was up by 0.62% to Rs. 5881 per BBL while NATURALGAS Dec-24 contract was up by 3.44% to Rs. 276.9 per MMBTU.

Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 661.95 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 1477.98 crores.

AGRI: MENTHAOIL Dec-24 contract was down by 0.24% to Rs. 919 per kg and COTTONCNDY Jan-25 contract was up by 0.16% to Rs. 54800 per candy.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts:

Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 78277.28 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 999.83 crores.

Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5900 was up by 38.16% to Rs. 70.60 with volume of 113838 lots & OI of 26005 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5800 was down by 15.96% to Rs. 45.3 with volume of 114306 lots & OI of 31687 lots.

Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.270 was up by 42.55% to Rs. 16.75 with volume of 17839 lots & OI of 5412 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.270 was down by 27.14% to Rs. 10.2 with volume of 19040 lots & OI of 6265 lots.

Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.80000 was up by 13.78% to Rs. 512.00 with volume of 1420 lots & OI of 746 lots, while Gold Put Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.78000 was up by 0.89% to Rs. 910 with volume of 1440 lots & OI of 443 lots.

Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was down by 4.41% to Rs. 4355.50 with volume of 618 lots & OI of 719 lots, while Silver Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.90000 was up by 8.6% to Rs. 2053 with volume of 236 lots & OI of 783 lots.
