Infosys Co-Founder Kris Gopalakrishnan, 17 Others Booked Under SC-ST Act in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A case has been registered against Infosys co-founder Senapathy Kris Gopalakrishnan and 17 others under the Prevention of SC-ST Atrocities Act following allegations by a former Indian Institute of Science (IISc) professor.

The complainant, Durgappa, who belonged to the Bovi tribal community and previously worked at IISc’s Centre for Sustainable Technology, claimed he was falsely implicated in a 2014 honey trap case, which resulted in his dismissal. He further alleged facing casteist slurs and threats.

Following the 71st City Civil and Sessions Court's directive, the Sadashivnagar police in Bengaluru registered an FIR against multiple accused, including former IISc Director Balaram P, faculty members Govindan Rangarajan, Sridhar Warrier, Sandya Vishwswaraih, and others.

At the time of this report, neither IISc nor Kris Gopalakrishnan, who serves on the IISc Board of Trustees, had responded to the allegations.
