Junior Doctors Stand Firm Against Stubborn Police, Protest All Night Near Lal Bazaar

Kolkatta:The protest by junior doctors demanding the resignation of Police Commissioner Vinit Goyal over the police negligence in the RG Kar Medical College attack shows no signs of abating. The demonstration, which began on Sunday afternoon, continued through the night with chants and protests lasting until Monday morning. On one side of the nine-foot-tall barricades erected by the police near Lal Bazaar, junior doctors remain steadfast in their protest, while on the other side, police forces are deployed.
The protest, which has lasted for over 12 hours, includes a demand for the resignation of the Police Commissioner. Junior doctors have declared that their movement will persist until the resignation is granted. Symbolically, they have initiated "Mission Lal Bazaar" with roses and images of the police's backbone. The police have installed iron barricades to thwart their protest, but doctors are sitting in front of these barricades, continuing their demonstration.
Hundreds of junior doctors rallied throughout the night on BB Ganguly Street, chanting slogans against Kolkata Police and Vinit Goyal. They have written various slogans on the streets addressing police negligence and evidence tampering. Dr. Kaushik, who is leading the doctors' movement, stated that they were allowed to take their rally to the crossing of Bentick Street and BB Ganguly Street. Their sole demand is to be permitted to proceed there, after which a delegation of doctors plans to submit a memorandum at Lal Bazaar.
