Kandivali Police File Case Against Shinde Sena Worker for Extortion, Assault on Engineers

Kandivali, Mumbai: In a shocking incident, the Kandivali police have filed a case against Lalsingh Rajpurohit, alias Lalu, the "Vibhag Parmukh" of the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, and six of his associates, for extortion and assault on engineers involved in a road construction project. The engineers were allegedly threatened and assaulted after refusing to comply with Lalu’s demands for money.
The incident took place near Lalu's office in Irani Wadi, under the jurisdiction of R/Ward Municipal Corporation. It is claimed that Lalu and his associates first extorted ₹5 lakh from a private construction company earlier this year to allow work to proceed. However, they continued to demand more money from the engineers involved in the project.
On Tuesday, three engineers — Abhypartap Singh, Vishwanath Chaurasiya, and Vinit Singh — were summoned to Lalu's office, where they were reportedly threatened with violence if they did not meet further demands. When they refused, Lalu and his associates allegedly assaulted the engineers with bamboo sticks, prompting the engineers to report the matter to the police.
As a result, the Kandivli police have registered a case under several sections of the Indian Penal Code. Two individuals, identified as Pintu Jaiswal alias Rahul (31) and Nilesh Jaiswal (39), have been arrested, while a manhunt is underway for the others involved. The Rabodi police have taken over the further investigation.
