Krishna Janmashtami Sees a Turnover of ₹25,000 Crore in the Country

Nagpur:On the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) reported that the total business turnover reached a staggering ₹25,000 crore.
The festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country. The figures for market transactions were compiled jointly by CAIT Secretary Praveen Khandelwal and President B.C. Bhartiya. There was a significant sale of flowers, fruits, sweets, deity costumes, decorative items, fasting sweets, dry fruits, milk, curd, butter, and other products on Janmashtami. B.C. Bhartiya mentioned that Janmashtami was celebrated with high enthusiasm in Northern and Western India, with temples being attractively decorated. The markets saw a noticeable crowd of customers. Special attractions included digital tab boxes, selfie points with Lord Krishna, and other delightful exhibitions. In cities, numerous devotional hymns, religious dances, and discourses were held. Various social organizations also celebrated Janmashtami on a large scale.
Earlier this month, CAIT estimated the festive trade turnover during Raksha Bandhan to be over ₹12,000 crore. Now, they claim that the turnover for Janmashtami has reached ₹25,000 crore. CAIT emphasized that significant market activity during Indian festivals, celebrations, and religious events contributes to the strengthening of the economy.
