MCX records turnover of Rs.8356.07 crores in Commodity Futures & Rs.52886.31 crores in Options

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.61243.42 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 04 December 2024 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs. 8356.07 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs. 52886.31 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Dec-24 futures was reached at 18834 point. Commodity Future Contracts: Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs. 5264.75 crores. GOLD Dec-24 contract was up by 0.14% to Rs. 76071 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Dec-24 contract was up by 0.03% to Rs. 61890 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Dec-24 contract was up by 0.04% to Rs. 7692 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Dec-24 contract was up by 0.26% to Rs. 76129 per 10 gram. SILVER Dec-24 contract was down by 0.05% to Rs. 89700 per kg, while SILVERM Feb-25 contract was down by 0.24% to Rs. 91949 per kg and SILVERMIC Feb-25 contract was down by 0.26% to Rs. 91932 per kg. Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs. 2189.71 crores with volume of 2849 lots and OI of 13031 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs. 1339.07 crores with volume of 4846 lots and OI of 26237 lots. Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs. 1333.97 crores. COPPER Dec-24 contract was down by 0.13% to Rs. 821.5 per kg and ZINC Dec-24 contract was up by 0.17% to Rs. 287.65 per kg while ALUMINIUM Dec-24 contract was up by 0.23% to Rs. 244.35 per kg and LEAD Dec-24 contract was down by 0.11% to Rs. 182.1 per kg. Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs. 804.76 crores, Aluminium futures Rs. 124.30 crores, Lead futures Rs. 22.12 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs. 257.77 crores. Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs. 1851.51 crores. CRUDEOIL Dec-24 contract was up by 0.1% to Rs. 5935 per BBL while NATURALGAS Dec-24 contract was down by 1.51% to Rs. 255.1 per MMBTU. Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs. 598.92 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs. 1017.90 crores. AGRI: MENTHAOIL Dec-24 without any changes 928 per kg and COTTONCNDY Jan-25 contract was down by 0.09% to Rs. 55310 per candy.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts: Commodity Options accounted for Rs. 52886.31 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs. 985.33 crores. Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was up by 2.56% to Rs. 100.00 with volume of 99098 lots & OI of 30166 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.5900 was down by 0.08% to Rs. 120.1 with volume of 80873 lots & OI of 18607 lots. Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.260 was down by 14.47% to Rs. 13.00 with volume of 12960 lots & OI of 5754 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.260 was up by 12.54% to Rs. 18.4 with volume of 8250 lots & OI of 3711 lots. Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.78000 was down by 2.87% to Rs. 661.00 with volume of 602 lots & OI of 491 lots, while Gold Put Option Dec-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.76000 was up by 3.81% to Rs. 749.5 with volume of 633 lots & OI of 621 lots. Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.92000 was down by 4.09% to Rs. 3795.00 with volume of 470 lots & OI of 368 lots, while Silver Put Option Feb-25 contract at Strike price of Rs.95000 was up by 2.4% to Rs. 5725 with volume of 243 lots & OI of 163 lots.
