Mob Attacks Mumbai Police Team with Stones at Ambivali Railway Station, 4 Officers Injured

Ambivali Railway Station,Thane: On the night of December 4, a Mumbai police team was attacked by a mob at Ambivali railway station in Thane while attempting to apprehend a suspect. The police officers were pelted with stones by the mob, resulting in injuries to four officers. The incident occurred after the MIDC police arrested the accused, triggering an attack by the suspect’s relatives.

The Thane police registered an FIR and are investigating the matter, using footage to identify the individuals involved. Although the stone pelting shattered some glass at the station, train operations were not disrupted. The incident was unrelated to the railway operations, and the state police are actively pursuing the perpetrators.

According to GRP DCP Manoj Patil, the situation was eventually brought under control, and the injured officers were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Dr. Swapnil Nila, spokesperson for CR, clarified that there was no involvement of Railway authorities in this incident.
