Mother’s Struggle to Bring Back Son Stranded in the Maldives, Appeals for Government Intervention

Byculla/Mumbai: Gayatri Parikh, a resident of Byculla, has appealed to the Indian government and local authorities for assistance in rescuing her son, who has been stranded in the Maldives for the past few months. He traveled there to work as a chef but has been facing difficulties and is now unable to return to Mumbai. Along with her son, 10-15 other individuals are also stuck in the Maldives. They have contacted Mrs. Parikh for help in securing their release. Despite multiple letters and visits to the Ministry, local politicians, and police stations, no substantial aid has been provided.Speaking about the situation, Gayatri Parikh said, “My son is facing immense difficulties there. I plead with the authorities to help bring him back home safely. Other families are also in the same predicament.”
These individuals went to the Maldives for employment as chefs, but they have been caught in a challenging situation. Mrs. Parikh is requesting the Indian government to intervene urgently and ensure their safe return.Despite numerous efforts, no action has been taken to bring her son home. Finally, Mrs. Parikh turned to the media for assistance in spreading awareness and garnering help.
“The government needs to act quickly and help rescue my son along with the others stranded there. We have tried everything, but no support has been forthcoming,” said Gayatri Parikh, mother.
