GOLD futures gains by 0.52% and SILVER futures gains by 0.74%, while CRUDEOIL futures drops by 0.35%

Mumbai : India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) has recorded turnover of Rs.111216.62 crores in various futures & option contracts for commodities listed at MCX on 16 October 2024 till 5:00 pm. In which commodity futures accounted for Rs.10927.91 crores and options on commodity futures for Rs.100284.42 crores (notional). Bullion Index MCXBULLDEX Oct-24 futures was reached at 19068 point.

Commodity Future Contracts:

Bullion: In precious metals, Turnover of Gold and Silver variants clocked Rs.6829.22 crores. GOLD Dec-24 contract was up by 0.52% to Rs.76754 per 10 gram, GOLDGUINEA Oct-24 contract was up by 0.38% to Rs.61500 per 8 gram and GOLDPETAL Oct-24 contract was up by 0.51% to Rs.7499 per gram. On other hand, GOLDM Oct-24 contract was up by 0.51% to Rs.76228 per 10 gram.

SILVER Dec-24 contract was up by 0.74% to Rs.92304 per kg, while SILVERM Nov-24 contract was up by 0.72% to Rs.92168 per kg and SILVERMIC Nov-24 contract was up by 0.76% to Rs.92186 per kg.

Gold futures clocked turnover of Rs.2339.16 crores with volume of 3051 lots and OI of 16807 lots while Silver futures clocked turnover of Rs.2004.48 crores with volume of 7242 lots and OI of 29181 lots.

Base Metal: Turnover of base metal products accounted for Rs.2011.63 crores. COPPER Oct-24 contract was up by 0.76% to Rs.823.35 per kg and ZINC Oct-24 contract was up by 1.35% to Rs.285.4 per kg while ALUMINIUM Oct-24 contract was up by 1.06% to Rs.238 per kg and LEAD Oct-24 contract was up by 0.52% to Rs.183.6 per kg.

Copper futures clocked turnover of Rs.1149.70 crores, Aluminium futures Rs.210.31 crores, Lead futures Rs.41.77 crores, and Zinc futures clocked turnover of Rs.415.52 crores.

Energy: Turnover of energy products contributed for Rs.2098.83 crores. CRUDEOIL Oct-24 contract was down by 0.35% to Rs.5902 per BBL while NATURALGAS Oct-24 contract was down by 2.03% to Rs.207.3 per MMBTU.

Crude Oil futures clocked turnover of Rs.1064.73 crores and Natural Gas futures Rs.826.02 crores.

AGRI: MENTHAOIL Oct-24 contract was up by 0.08% to Rs.917 per kg and COTTONCNDY Nov-24 contract was up by 0.49% to Rs.57000 per candy. COTTONOIL Nov-24 contract was up by 0.67% to Rs.1172.10 per 10 kgs.

Options on Commodity Future Contracts:

Commodity Options accounted for Rs.100284.42 crores turnover (notional), having premium turnover of Rs.1241.05 crores.

Crude Oil Options: Most traded contracts among Crude Oil Options were Call Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was down by 23.37% to Rs.45.90 with volume of 156029 lots & OI of 22309 lots, while Crude Oil Put Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.6000 was up by 1.79% to Rs.136.7 with volume of 104689 lots & OI of 7091 lots.

Natural Gas Options: Most traded contracts among Natural Gas Options were Call Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.210 was down by 31.67% to Rs.6.15 with volume of 23760 lots & OI of 11574 lots, while Natural Gas Put Option Oct-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.210 was up by 40.41% to Rs.10.25 with volume of 20085 lots & OI of 10697 lots.

Gold Options: Most traded contracts among Gold Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.76000 was up by 14.18% to Rs.1775.00 with volume of 261 lots & OI of 490 lots, while Gold Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.76000 was down by 12.99% to Rs.1055 with volume of 361 lots & OI of 423 lots.

Silver Options: Most traded contracts among Silver Options were Call Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.92000 was up by 12.14% to Rs.3585.00 with volume of 421 lots & OI of 560 lots, while Silver Put Option Nov-24 contract at Strike price of Rs.92000 was down by 10.04% to Rs.3209 with volume of 201 lots & OI of 260 lots.
