Mumbai on Alert as Six Children Go Missing in One Day, Investigation Underway

Mumbai, August 31, 2025 : In a disturbing development, six minors — three girls and three boys aged between 12 and 17 — have gone missing within a span of just 24 hours, between August 27 and 28, city police officials confirmed on Sunday. The sudden wave of disappearances has raised alarm among parents and law enforcement agencies alike.
Missing complaints have been filed at multiple police stations, including Shivaji Nagar, Malad, Kurar, and Ghatkopar. Authorities have registered kidnapping cases against unidentified individuals and have launched a comprehensive investigation to trace the whereabouts of the children.
So far, no ransom demands have been reported. However, police are keeping all possibilities open, including the chance that some cases might involve voluntary elopement. To expedite the search process, photographs of the missing minors have been widely circulated in crowded areas such as railway stations, bus depots, hospitals, and other public spaces.
Special “missing squads” have been activated across all police stations to intensify efforts in locating the children and ensuring their safe return.
Parents and residents are urged to stay vigilant and report any information related to the missing minors to the nearest police station.
